Our Team

SHILO CRANE MAJ, USA (Ret)

Shilo served in the U.S. Army for 24 years as both an enlisted member and an Infantry Officer. After retiring, he began a second career as a Special Agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He serves on the gang task force, is a member of the tactical team, and will soon join the GBI peer support team.
On his own journey he has discovered a critical need for open discussions about mental health among veterans and first responders. These individuals often face a stigma that prevents them from seeking the support they deserve.
“I struggled to find a mental health program that was a fit for me. Once I did, I can honestly say it has been transformative-it has saved my marriage, restored my family, and brought peace to my life.”
Shilo loves motorcycles and in 2025 he rode from Atlanta, Ga to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to raise money for The Motorcycle Relief Project.

JAMIE BEERE MAJ, USA (Ret)

Jamie retired from the military after 27 years of service. Prior to the military Jamie was a Shock Trauma medic (EMT-ST) for 5 years in Virginia.

Jamie has seen and experienced a lot of what deployed Veterans and First Responders/LEO go through, and understands the importance of mental health awareness.

”For me, adventure motorcycle riding with other like-minded folks helps me "let go", even if temporarily, of the daily minutia that can drag you down. It is in those moments that you can appreciate everything else in your life. Once you can do that, you can start on the road to recovery.”

I also find gratitude in helping other veterans and veteran organizations as I believe that by and through a community of interactions we can all help each other.

ROD WILSON, Hall County Fire Rescue, Div Chief of Training

Rod Wilson began his fire service career on November 8, 1993, driven by an unwavering passion for protecting lives and mastering the craft of firefighting. Over the past three decades, he has progressed through the ranks to his current position.
Rod’s operational experience spans some of the busiest stations in the county, where he thrived on responding to high-acuity incidents and applying advanced tactics under pressure. His career has included countless shifts riding backwards, driving apparatus, managing crews, treating patients, commanding complex incidents, and developing training programs—all with a relentless commitment to excellence.
While his dedication to the job was absolute, Rod later recognized the profound impact that cumulative stress and trauma can have on first responders. A pivotal call revealed that years of internalizing the weight of the profession had taken a toll. This realization transformed his perspective on mental health in public safety.
Today, Rod is a leading advocate for mental health awareness within the fire service. He proudly shares his own journey, promotes early intervention, and ensures that every recruit understands the importance of psychological resilience. He is actively involved in updating mental health policies and procedures for Hall County Fire Rescue, striving to create a culture where seeking help is seen as a strength, not a weakness.
Rod’s mission is clear: to prepare firefighters not only for the technical demands of the job but also for the emotional challenges that come with a career in public safety.
